Just Start Something... Or Tweak Something

Every journey is a collection of SINGLE steps!

As we leave behind a month of focusing on Morning Routines, I want to give one final encouragement. You don’t need to have a multi-step routine that would rival Tony Robbins in order to start. That type of comparison will keep you perpetually frozen at the starting line.

Things that are worth doing are worth committing to, even in simple ways. You’ll create a “baseline” that can eventually be increased or adjusted; this creates the compounding effect that we discussed in the issue on Discipline.

So what if your routine doesn’t initially begin with cold plunges and calisthenics… does it at least begin with something, and does that something help you be better throughout the day?

Here’s what I tweaked this month…

Let it be known that writing T+P not only helps you all as subscribers, but myself as well! With all the morning routine talk, I thought about some simple tweaks that I wanted. Here they are!

  • Increased - More Collagen in Coffee

    • If you recall, my scoop had 7g of Protein, but I wanted an even 10g. I can afford the extra calories without breaking my morning fast.

  • 💊 Added - Creatine Supplement

    • For muscle and cognitive performance. Plus it means that I increase my additional morning water intake by 10oz.

  • 💪🏼 Changed - Morning Exercises

    • 10×3×30 is a clever format, but I wanted to do something different…

    • Diamond Pushups & L-Hang to Pull-Up

      • I’d rather increase the pushup intensity and work on core, hips, and shoulders.

And guess what, this won’t be the last time the routine gets tweaked. Continuous Improvement for the win!
