Don’t Wait for Inspiration - Make it

There are myriads of ways fatigue hits. Perhaps the week has been full, maybe it’s gone sideways and you feel like you can’t win, maybe the scope of the work goes well beyond the time you can afford… whatever the reason is, here’s how you’re going to push through…

Technique ⏳

  • Set a Timer for an Hour

    • This seems to be the sweet spot. Sometimes momentum doesn’t build until 20min in.

  • 🎧 Block out Distractions and use Instrumental Music

    • Even if you think this isn’t your thing, try it. I go back and forth between epic soundtracks and classical music.

    • Get some good noise cancelling headphones. AirPods are always great, also Sony MX4s

  • 🗺️ Redirect Efforts to Something More Desirable but Still Helpful

    • Sometimes all you need is to pick something else to build momentum, and it will slingshot you into the next project. Ride the wave!

  • 🔄 Extend the Time if Desired

    • If you can afford more time, congrats! By locking in you’ve built enough momentum to keep going. If not, congrats! You’ve at least done an hour of work that you would have had to do at some point anyways!
